Our restaurant is open to the public Monday to Friday for lunch from 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. where you can purchase from our many International sandwiches such as the "wors" burger a South African favorite, home made by Chef Gerard with ground beef and pork flavored with lightly roasted coriander seed and spices, with his peach chutney. For the decernable gourmet we have our special of the day prepared from cooking series" Master Cooking" and "International Cooking". Chef Gerard grew up in South Africa. He has worked at various Hotels and Game Lodges, including the Elephant Springs Hotel and Sondela Resort. He was the founder of Chicago Cafe & Restaurant and developed a catering company. He studied food both in Africa and America and has taught on both continents. He has also been a guest on numerous cooking shows and currently teaches from his program "Master Cooking and International Cooking" at local colleges, community centers and at his own cooking school on the premises. The chef opens his international restaurant by reservation every Saturday Night for his "Out of African Eating Experience" with entertainment, the meal normally lasts 2 to 3 hours and guests are invited to bring their own wine. We are also open for any night of the week for private groups.

  • Savory treat of the Day. Frikkadels in sauce, or Homemade Sausage, or Bubble & Squeak.
  • INTERNATIONAL COOKING AND DINNER CLUB

    Sunday Afternoon Cooking Classes

    Groups of 12 or more can book a Sunday afternoon to experience any of Chef Gerard's 43 cooking classes which lasts 3 1/2 followed by a meal. Current Courses :-

    France, Italy, British Isles, Africa, Greece, Middle East, Eastern Europe, India, China, International Game and Game bird, English Christmas, Herbs and Spices, Vinegar, Bread Making,

    Baking, Pastry, Seafood, Stocks, Soups, Sauces, Meats, Vegetables, Rice and Pasta, plus lots more

    Costs are $35.00 per person and $49.50 with accomodation sharing. You may upgrade to jacuzzi suites at $69.50 p/p.

    Hats and aprons are provided. Certificated

No cursing or unpleasant behavior
While we try to serve what is on the menu for the evening, events beyond our control may affect the availabilty of some items, therefore we reserve the right to substitute a comparable dish.
